Description
Merlot grapes, picked at peak ripeness and partially dried for 8 weeks, produce a structured, well-rounded, and fruity wine typical of the La Roncaia style. The grapes are destemmed but not crushed, fermented in stainless steel tanks, and macerated for about 25 days. The wine then ages slowly for 36 months in barriques, followed by further bottle aging to achieve maturity and balance.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red with garnet tinges. Multi-layered aromatic set, merging typically herbaceous scents and intense perfumes of red berries, in a fine, clean and elegant complexity. Structurally balanced, warm, smooth, appropriately tannic; La Roncaia Fusco is an engrossing and long-lasting wine.
