Ruby red with purple hues. Prominent tobacco and leather on the nose; ripe blackberry and blueberry with hints of cocoa, baking spice, and delicate pine. Juicy and medium bodied; reveals rich fruits, sweet herbs, and milk chocolate; leads to plush tannins and an elegant finish.
Salento, which ethymologically means Earth between two Seas, is named after the Sallentini, who inhabited this part of the peninsula with the Messapi, starting in the 9th century BC.
