Description
Jean-Joseph Moreau, a young cooper, set up shop in Chablis in 1814 and married a local winemaker's daughter. This was the beginning of the House of Moreau. After having been a pioneer in the Chablis region, over the years J. Moreau & Fils has become one of Chablis' main producers as well as the region's most active Negociant-éleveur (wine broker and ager). J. Moreau & Fils is known for its expertise and the style of its wines that seek out harmony between the expression of the terroirs, fruit, structure and texture for wines that may be enjoyed when young yet offer significant ageing potential : Vintage and Image may vary
Tasting Notes
A raspberry red colour. Notes of red fruits complemented by a nose of coffee and mild spice, pepper and nutmeg. Fruity. Flavours of stone-fruits and stewed prune, slightly spicy. A fine finish. An easy drinking wine.
