Description
Inherited from the Cluny monks who had cleared the land and planted vines on their properties around Mâcon, the House of Mommessin has its origins in southern Burgundy. In 1865, Jean-Marie Mommessin chose to set up his company at Grange-Saint-Pierre, one of the former outbuildings of the Cluny Abbey. It was from there that the key, which has become the symbol of the brand, was taken : Vintage and Image may vary
Tasting Notes
Brilliant deep ruby colour with violet tints. Very fresh, fruity nose with red fruit aromas, particularly strawberries and redcurrants. On the palate there is plenty of fruit, with a good juicy attack. It has a powerful structure and a full, long finish.
Serving Suggestions
White or red meats , mature cheeses or simply enjoy it on its own. An excellent partner to meat dishes and even heartier meals such as curry and stew.
