Using grapes sourced from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Cap Maritime is notable for its complex mouthful of mineral notes blended with citrus, sweet melon and French oak. Reflecting Marc Kent’s maverick style and obsessive focus on detail, this is a refined blend which is matured for 14 months prior to bottling. This Chardonnay is fermented in a mixture of French oak and concrete eggs, a relatively new wine storage technique which encourages that addictive ‘wet pebble’ mineral note.
