The foundation of Clicquot was set back in 1772. Philippe Clicquot used to own vineyards and decied to start a champagne house. With a vision for his brand to cross oceans and borders, he made his first shipment of champagne to Venice. Business was going great. In 1805, Barbe Clicquot Ponsardin, known as Madame Clicquot (the 27 year old widow of the founder's son), thus becoming one of the first businesswomen of modern times. Madame Clicquot took her abilities and innovativeness to a new level by creating the first vintage champagne in 1810. Over the years, she brought about new inventions, implemented new techniques thus bringing about important discoveries. Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label Non Vintage is a blend of grapes from 50 to 60 different Crus.The Yellow Label is recognized around the world for its remarkable consistency of taste, beautiful aroma, colour and impeccable quality. It displays a robust acidity, streak of minerality, offering subtle notes of white peach, anise, biscuit and kumquat, finishing into notes of smokiness. What makes it unique is the predominance of Pinot Noir, providingthe structure to Clicquot, a touch of Pinot Meunier giving it bringing the blend together, and the Chardonnay adding a touch of elegance and finesse to make the perfectly balanced Clicquot.
