A vibrant red, premium-aged Port where the balance of ripe fruit and oak-aged intensity highlight its great quality. A most flavoursome Port, full-bodied and appealing with a persistent finish. A complex aroma of ripe fruit, jam and nuts with hints of vanilla and raisins, while on the palace the sweetness is well-balanced by a refreshing acidity which carries the complex flavours onto the lingering finish. Where a vintage port needs keeping for years and decanting, tawny ports are a ready-aged alternative. Delicious served slightly chilled on its own and a surprising accompaniment to a rich appetizer or a strong blue cheese. It is also a perfect match to rich desserts from a tarte tatin, to custards, ice-cream, pudding with figs, nuts and raisins.
