Reki Whiskey Blended Helios 70cl from the Helios distillery in Okinawa, Japan, is well known both for the production of Rum and for a special rice-based drink produced only in Okinawa, which takes the name of awamori. Helios Distillery was founded in 1961. The whiskey has been produced in very small quantities since the 1950s. In the early 1990s, the Asahi group, which also owns Nikka, purchased the distillery and has since only produced whiskey for certain Nikka blends. This special bottling was only available in northern Japan in Hokkaido in select stores. The goal was to produce liqueurs with ingredients from the land, and he therefore started the business by producing rum from the prized local sugar cane. Helios also deals with the production of excellent whiskies.
