Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or 16 Year Old 70cl

Inspired by his memory of entering a French pastry shop, Dr Bill Lumsden first brought a whisky of dessert-like complexity to life in Glenmorangie The Nectar D'Or. Now, he has taken its swirls of sweet scents and spice to new heights of deliciousness, in our award-winning Glenmorangie The Nectar. Aged longer, for 16 years, in an enhanced combination of bourbon and sweet white wine casks, this new whisky is even more sumptuous and complex. For extra depth and creaminess, silky Glenmorangie aged for 14 years in bourbon casks was selected. The whisky was then finished for two more years in a new combination of sweet white wine casks.

Bronze gold in colour, this rich and indulgent whisky offers aromas of brioche, baked apricot, vanilla, toasted almonds, and chocolate truffles. The palate is smooth and unctuous, with flavours of vanilla creme anglaise, raisin bread, chestnuts, and warming spices like nutmeg and star anise, balanced by fresh lemon zest. The finish is long and elegant, with notes of honeycomb, lemon rind, and sweet baking spices.

Enjoy neat, with a little water or 2-3 large rocks of ice.

Glenmorangie was established in 1843 when William Matheson founded the Glenmorangie Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. He began his venture into making a pioneering single malt whisky inspired by the peaceful surroundings of the distillery. The single malt was known to be exceptionally smooth and complex in nature. Distilled in Scotland's tallest stills and matured in the finest casks, Glenmorangie is made and perfected by "The Men of Tain', known to be the guardians of the spirit. The Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or is known to be a complemented because of its uniqueness. This whisky develops its rich, psicy flavour from the famous, ancient sweet wine growing region of France. It portrays teh aromas of lime and orange rind, sultanas and dates along with tantalising spices of coconut and nutmeg, with tastes rich of ginger, toasted almonds, lemon meringue and honeycomb middle, finishing off with zest citrus flavours and traces of chocolate and vanilla.
