William Lawson began his first work in whisky, when he entered into whisky trade in 1888 for E&J Burke's blending, bottling and exporting company in Dublin. It was in the same place that, the following year that W. Lawson & Co was registered. Being a rule breaker himself, he decided to make whisky differently. INstead of using the normal blends and techniques, he used Scottish malts, none of them being peat or smoke or any of the traditional Scotch. The William Lawson Blended Scotch Whisky is a classic blended Scotch Whisky incorporating a sweet, medium-bodied flavour. It displays flavours of sweet spice and creamy barley malt, with a touch of cocoa butter, dried peels and oak, which takes you into tastes of dates and raisins, walnut loaf, allspice and toasted oak, to finish off with a creamy toasted malt finish showcasing hints of pepper. STYLE: Scotch WHisky, ALCOHOL BY VOLUME (ABV): 40%
First produced by William Lawson in 1849 this blend is sweet with a medium bodied and spicy finish.
