The Captain has long been sailing the seas with one flag hoisted up for the world to see, Captain Morgan Original Spiced Gold is created by adding a secret mixture of spices and natural flavours to Caribbean rum, which is then aged in charred white oak barrels.
The Captain Morgan brand dates back to 1944, the brand is named after Captain Henry Morgan, a Welsh privateer and Governor of Jamaica who in the 1600s was licensed by the English Crown to raid Spanish settlements and shipping in the Americas, becoming hugely wealthy in the process.

Captain Morgan, the rum itself was created in 1944 established by Sam Bronfman, and went on to be one of the top selling rum producers the world had ever seen. Producing the rum involved the mix of the rich and sweet juices of sugar cane, fermentaion, distillation, maturation in charred white oak barrels to incorporate colour and flavour and blending to achieve the smooth taste of the finest Caribbean rums. Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum is a smooth is an aged rum with spices that makes for a distinct colour and a unique creation of richness to it. Even though the brand has come up with many successful versions of rum (which calls for some serious drinking skills), the company still owes its continued fame to its original spiced rum, which we think will remain a classic.
