The Captain’s Dark Rum isn’t just any old seafarer’s beverage. Its a blend of 5 rums from Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados, which are aged for at least 2 years in charred oak barrels. To make the perfect dark rum to keep the Captain’s men going across the seven seas, Captain Morgan Dark Rum is aged for that heavenly oak finish, before being blended according to our very own secret recipe.

Aromas of molasses and pepper are followed by vanilla, toffee and molasses on the palate. The Finish is short with smoky notes and a hint of honey.

Best served mixed with cola or ginger beer, or in a real rum punch, you can mix into one of the Captain’s favourite dark rum cocktails.

Captain Morgan, the rum itself was created in 1944 established by Sam Bronfman, and went on to be one of the top selling rum producers the world had ever seen. Producing the rum involved the mix of the rich and sweet juices of sugar cane, fermentaion, distillation, maturation in charred white oak barrels to incorporate colour and flavour and blending to achieve the smooth taste of the finest Caribbean rums. Even though the brand has come up with many successful versions of rum (which calls for some serious drinking skills), the company still owes its continued fame to its original spiced rum, which we think will remain a classic.
