Amaro Montenegro is a traditional Italian bitters, still distilled in Bologna, where it’s made with the same top-secret blend of 40 herbs, botanicals, and spices, including vanilla and orange peels. It’s got a curiously fragrant aroma, with notes of citrus peels, juicy cherry, bitter tea and even fresh hints of cucumber. As far as bitters go, however, this one is on the milder side, bringing a refreshing, savoury edge.
