Smirnoff brand began in 1864 by Piotr Arsenwwvich Smirnov. It did not take him long before he was known as one of the most famous vodka makers in Russia. Making delcious tasting vodkas became his forte. But, when the Bolsheviks came to take over the land, the distilleries were shut down and P.A's son, Vladmir was chased out of the town. He was able to relocate in a a beautiful place called Contantinople and eventually settle in France where it is known that he sold vodka under 'Smirnoff'. Smirnoff Ice is a citrus flavoured malt beverage which is low in alcohol, but makes for a tasty sweet ready-to-drink.
