Serve Up A Baileys Poke Cake This Winter

Poke cakes have been trending for a while now. It is quite a simple and quick dessert to make, without sounding too fancy, yet tasting amazingly good and not dry at all (which is always what you need when you eat cake right). So, for those cake lovers, who are probably throwing several parties at your home, or you just like poke cake and want to eat an entire one all your yourself, this one is for you. The best part is, we are spicing it up a little (courtesy the cold winter weather and a darn good bottle of Baileys). So, get your baking aprons out, because this one is definitely one to try this season!

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In the meantime, butter your cake pan and flour your pan (so that the cake doesn't stick).
  2. Prepare your chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Bake for around 25- 30 minutes or until you insert a clean toothpick and it comes out clean.
  3. Once baked, poke your cake with a wooden spoon, to make holes all over the cake. Soak the cake in 11s ml of Baileys ( pour across the holes). Mix the 1/2 cup of Baileys with caramel sauce and pour it all over the top of the cake.
  4. Top it off with a layer of whipped cream and toasted pecans. Enjoy!
