Heiwa Shuzo was founded in 1938 by Tamotsu Yamamoto. Tamotsu Taniguchi, a sake brewery dating back to the Edo period, inherited the headship of the Yamamoto family, which had been a Buddhist temple for generations, as a son-in-law. At that time, his natural love of sake grew stronger, leading him to establish a sake brewery. At that time, the temple name was 'Muryozan Choganji,' so even today, it is sometimes referred to by the trade name 'Choganji.' The name KID comes from the image of the "Kishu climate" (the former name of Wakayama Prefecture) and also represents the innocence and freedom of a child.
