Description
The Luxembourg-based company was founded in 2014 and in 2021 joined the ranks of Irish whiskey producers by acquiring the assets of Walsh Whiskey Company, producer of the popular brands The Irishman and Writers Tears. The name Dé Danann refers to Celtic mythology, specifically the Tuatha dé Dannan tribe, who for centuries ruled Ireland and served as a link between the inhabitants of earth and the afterlife. Dé Danann is a standard blend, a blend of triple-distilled malt and grain whiskeys, aged exclusively in American oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: honey cereal, vanilla, brown sugar, apples, grapes, lemon peel, a pinch of pepper, notes of hay and oak.
Palate: fruit candies, breakfast cereals, vanilla, sugared peanuts, apples, pears, a touch of lemongrass, pepper and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, milk fudge, brown sugar, a hint of summer fruit and oak.
