The Bahama Mama is made with a number of ingredients, but let's talk about one special ingredient- The Bacardi 8 Years. This rum was first created in 1862 and has since been the sole preserve through seven generations of the Bacardi family. People across the world know this rum to be a special occasion rum. This wonderfully made golden sipping rum is one of the oldest private rum blends in the world.

Incorporating the 8 years into this recipe gives the drink a more intense flavour of the various tasting notes of coffee, coconut, vanilla, nutmeg, apricot and more.

Ingredients

  • 22 ml of Bols Coffee Liqueur
  • 22 ml of Bols Crème De Cacao

Steps

  1. Grab a shaker that is filled with ice and add the Bacardi 8 Years, the Bacardi Dark Rum, coffee liqueur, Bols Crème De Cacao, coconut milk and a little maple syrup.
  2. Shake well until the outside of the shakes is cold and the ingredients are all well combined.
  3. Take a highball glass and pour the remaining maple syrup, decorating the inside of the glass.
  4. Pour the drink along with ice into the glass.
  5. Top it off with coconut flakes or shaves and enjoy!
