Gingerbread, I'm old fashioned like that, you'll see

Nothing rings in the festive season like a nice cosy glass of mulled wine and gingerbread cookies. We will get to the topic of mulled wine a tad bit later. What we are focusing in this blog post is the gingerbread.

The gingerbread craze comes in various forms like the candied gingerbread houses that you can eat, gingerbread cookies or just spiced loaves of ginger cake-bread (if that makes sense). It all began when the English first soaked breadcrumbs in honey and ginger back in 1390.

But now, I would like ginger soaked in something much more stronger, something like Don Julio Aejo, what do you think? Sometimes, all you need is a good tequila and some good ole ginger to ring in the best time of the year.

It is a super simple recipe and calls for only 5 minutes of attention after which you can proceed to listening to the winter chimes.

Serves: 1
5 mins

  4. Stir thoroughly to combine the flavours.
  5. Strain into an old fashioned glass that is filled with fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with saffron threads and lemon zest. Enjoy!
